I love the Dingle Peninsula! Down at the tip of the peninsula it looks just like I imagined Ireland would look - lush green fields divided by stone walls. The movies "Ryan's Daughter" and "Far and Away" were filmed here.
This little hut is called a beehive hut - the earliest ones were built by monks a thousand years ago.
We ate wonderful local fish and chips in the town of Dingle, a picturesque fishing village.
The thatched roof is on a restaurant in the little town of Adare. We’ve seen quite a few as we drove thru the countryside but this was the first one that we could take a close-up photo of.
We’re in Limerick tonight - this is the view from our hotel room of the Shannon River.
Ate dinner tonight in a little place called the Coal Cellar - tried the chicken curry and Gary had bacon, cabbage and "mash." (Mashed potatoes) Tomorrow we will keep going north thru Galway to Sligo.

I just knew you would like the Dingle Peninsula!!! And what a perfect little town Dingle is! The view of the Shannon river reminds me of the River Iffy in Dublin - are all rivers in Ireland beautiful?
ReplyDeleteYou are eating a lot of fish and chips for a non-fish-eating person! Haileigh is jealous!
