June 12 - The Highlands

We are a little overwhelmed by the Highlands - so gorgeous and oozing with history that it’s a lot to take in! And with our ancestral roots here we’re feeling a real pull to the place. Must have taken 500 photos over the past two days - and none of them really do the scenery justice.

We started yesterday by driving along Loch Lomond to Rannoch Moor and Glen Coe, where there was a piper in full Highland regalia playing where we stopped for a photo op.

Then we took a ferry to the Isle of Skye - it was a misty grey day, beautiful in person but not good for photos.

Then back to the mainland and driving along the shores of Loch Ness to Inverness, where we are for two nights. We’re in an old hotel right on the River Ness - love this town.
